North Atlanta Women Spend Up to $24,500 on Facial Waxing Alone, New Study Finds

A North Atlanta woman who relies on professional facial waxing for 35 years will spend an estimated $11,200 to $24,500 on a single body area, according to The North Atlanta Hair Removal Cost Study, a new research report published with Elite 360 Life.

The study combines U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulatory data, U.S. Census Bureau demographic figures, Bureau of Labor Statistics consumer expenditure data, industry pricing, and 31 years of clinical observation from Teresa, owner of Elite 360 Life.

The report estimates that women who also wax legs and bikini areas professionally face lifetime temporary hair removal costs of $22,400 to $52,500. Women who rely on shaving are modeled at $12,000 to $20,640 over 40 years in razors, shaving cream, and moisturizer.

By contrast, the report models permanent electrolysis for the same facial areas at $400 to $3,000 as a one-time cost range. Across an estimated 380,000 adult women in Gwinnett and Forsyth County, the report estimates more than $67 million in annual hair removal product and service spending.

The report also highlights a regulatory distinction: the FDA recognizes electrolysis as permanent hair removal, while laser devices are cleared for permanent hair reduction.
